CME Statement Supporting VA Decision to Phase Out Treatments for Gender Dysphoria

Updated: Mar 27

CME Press Room | Wednesday, March 19th, 2025 at 11:31am

"CME applauds Secretary Doug Collins and the Department of Veteran Affairs for phasing out medical treatments for gender dysphoria and prioritizing the needs of veterans following President Trump’s executive order on gender ideology", said Meaghan Mobbs, Military Advocacy and Policy Liaison for the Coalition for Military Excellence.

"We strongly support redirecting the taxpayer dollars previously spent on these treatments to where it belongs: helping severely injured veterans – including those who were paralyzed or suffered amputations – regain their independence. This decision demonstrates that Secretary Collins is operating in the best interests of our veterans, and he should be commended for taking decisive action to expand the services and support they rely on."
