CME Statement on Secretary Hegseth Launching Review of Military Fitness Standards

Updated: Mar 27

CME Press Room | Wednesday, March 19th, 2025 at 7:37am

"The Coalition for Military Excellence (CME) fully supports Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's directive to review the military's fitness and grooming standards. As global threats continue to evolve, the U.S. military must ensure that its personnel meet the highest standards of strength, discipline, and professionalism. Hegseth’s decision to reassess policies that have weakened our armed forces readiness is an essential step in restoring the warrior ethos and ensuring it remains the world's most effective fighting force", said Meaghan Mobbs, Military Advocacy and Policy Liaison for the Coalition for Military Excellence.

She continued, "Since President Trump won election, military retention rates have seen a notable increase across all branches, a clear indicator that morale is improving under his leadership. By emphasizing these traditional values and reviewing fitness standards, Hegseth is taking critical steps to strengthen our armed forces, improve its deterrence capabilities, and protect our national security."
